As Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, we're experts in exploring and repairing relationship dynamics--which have become particularly challenging as we're navigating these unusual times. We live in relation to one another, and a systems perspective means exploring how our family structure, roles, patterns of behavior and the emotions and thoughts that drive these influence one another. We can develop patterns of communication that stop feeling good or productive (yelling, irritated responses, reactionary, avoidant or disconnected) and family therapy is a great place to interrupt these patterns and introduce new ones. It can also be a place to address larger life shifts like divorce, blended family, grief, etc. Oftentimes, while working with children and teens we notice that family work makes a huge impact on behavior, mood, and overall happiness within the family. As we operate with a systems perspective, we believe every member in the family impacts the other members. This also includes the parental relationship within a family context, as well as working with the adult family members to heal their own family of origin wounds to build new patterns for their own family. Life will never be perfect or easy, but therapy can help families navigate challenges together so that you feel more connected, and stronger as individuals as well.
We welcome all family constellations, are LGBT affirming and secular based.
